The father-in-law of deceased Mica Miller is calling her a 'very, very sick woman' as he comes to the defense of his South Carolina pastor son who has been accused to driving her to suicide.
Reginald Miller, 75, is backing his son, Pastor John-Paul, 44, following allegations that he drove his wife to suicide.
Miller claims John-Paul had nothing to do with the death of his daughter-in-law, Mica Miller, 30, who died in Lumber River State Park on April 27.
Mica's family believes she was driven to suicide by John-Paul, whom she was filing for divorce from.
Miller said Mica was already suffering from a mental illness and alleges she had tried to kill herself once before, according to The Daily Mail.
"Mica was a very, very sick young woman," he insisted in a statement to the Mail.
"All have been covered up to protect her memory."
"I have a video of Mica... where she tells last year how she took a gun to kill herself and pulled the trigger, and the bullet locked in the gun," he claims.
The pastor's father is also alleging that two weeks after the couple's wedding, John-Paul had to stop her when she suddenly began "shooting up the neighborhood."
"She spent the first three weeks in a mental facility, and all the times since then," revealed Miller.
"Her family refused to believe how sick she was."
Miller's defense of his son comes a day after Mica's sister, Sierra Francis, accused John-Paul of abusing his wife while sending her and her family threatening messages.
Francis took to TikTok, writing,
"The proof is in the abuse; police reports were filed when JP threatened his life, and we did a wellness check. That was when he got mad. The police stated, 'When they arrived to perform a wellness check, he was loading his belongings into his truck. He stated he was not suicidal.' #justiceformica."
Although the Robeson County medical examiner has ruled Mica's death a suicide by a gunshot wound to the head, an affidavit filed by her younger sister in Horry County Probate Court states that if she was ever found dead in the manner she was found, her husband was responsible.
