New York City Mayor Eric Adams says he is considering revoking an honorary Key to the City of New York that he awarded to Sean "Diddy" Combs last September after a video surfaced showing him assaulting his former girlfriend.
Adams made the statement in an interview on WINS Radio on Monday morning.
"Our team is doing an analysis. We've never have taken a key back from anyone but the team is doing an analysis of what the next steps are," Adams said.
CNN first aired CCTV video on Friday that showed Combs - wearing only a towel - punching, shoving, kicking and dragging Cassie in a hotel hallway.
"It was inexcusable," Combs said in a video he posted on Instagram on Sunday. He said he takes "full responsibility" for the 2016 incident.

Diddy has faced a rash of legal problems in recent months.
Cassie, whose legal name is Cassandra Ventura, said in a lawsuit she filed in November that Combs subjected her to years of abuse, including beatings and rape, the Associated Press reported. The lawsuit was settled the following day and the details were confidential.
Two more women filed suits later in the month accusing Diddy of sexual abuse.
In December, another women filed a suit claiming Diddy and two other men raped her in 2003 when she was 17.
In February, music producer filed a suit claiming Diddy sexually assaulted him and forced him to have sex with prostitutes.
Federal agents raided his homes in March in connection to an alleged sex trafficking ring.
Adams presented the key to Diddy in September at a Times Square ceremony.
Adams said, "Sean Combs is the embodiment of the New York City attitude."
He referred to the rapper and music mogul as "the bad boy of entertainment" at the event.
"Receiving the Key to the City of New York, the very city that molded me, is an honor and incredible moment in my life," Diddy said at the time. "New York's energy and resilience have always been the backdrop of my story."
