A teenager is accused of murdering both of his parents and injuring is younger brother in their San Juan Capistrano home in February, the New York Daily News reported.
Ashton Sachs, 19, was arrested on Thursday for the death of his father, 57-year-old Bradford Sachs, and mother, 54-year-old Andra Sachs. Both were found fatally shot in their home on Feb. 9.
The couple's 8-year-old adopted son was also shot but survived. According to multiple reports, he was paralyzed by the attack.
During the shooting, the couple's two daughters were home and were able to call 911. Neither of the girls were injured.
According to the Daily News, all of the Sachs children were interviewed following the incident but none were initially considered suspects. However, police decided to pursue Ashton again and brought him in for a second round of questioning.
"We feel confident he's our suspect," lead detective Justin Montana told the Orange County Register. "Right now, we believe he's our only suspect."
No possible motives have been reported.
Additionally, Ashton and his older brother, Myles, applied for legal guardianship of their younger siblings two weeks after their parents were killed. They also asked the court to name them as the guardians of the family estate.
Ashton is currently being held without bail and is scheduled for arraignment on Monday. If he's convicted, he could face life in prison or the death penalty.
