A pregnant woman was forced to undergo induced labor after allegedly eating steak laced with LSD.
The woman's family, including her six and seven-year-old daughters after eating contaminated meat supposedly purchased at a Tampa Walmart, the N.Y. Daily News reported.
Ronnie Morales got ill after consuming the meat, his nine-months pregnant girlfriend Jessica Rosado drove him to the hospital.
Rosado fell ill shortly after followed by her two young daughters who started to hallucinate.
The girls, named Elyana and Royna, were treated with tracheal intubation and released two days later; Rosado was released the following day after giving birth to a healthy baby boy.
Investigators tested the food in the family's home as well as their oven.
"Initial test results received today from the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner's Office determined the family consumed bottom round steak contaminated with LSD," they said Friday in a news release, the Daily News reported.
The test results will not be available for about three weeks. Walmart is said to be full cooperating with police.
"We know our customers expect safe, quality food and we require our suppliers to meet the highest of food safety standards. It's unclear where and how the food was tampered with or if the tampering occurred after purchase. However, out of an abundance of caution, we have pulled the remaining product from the store," Walmart wrote in a statement, the Daily News reported.
The statement , sent out by a Walmart spokesperson, also expressed that the store was "deeply disturbed about this situation" are "taking it very seriously," the Daily News reported.
The bottom round steak is believed to have been contaminated with the hallucinogenic drug LSD. The Tampa Walmart has turned over all of its meat to investigators for further testing.
Local police, county health officials and state and federal agriculture officials, are working to determine how the meat became laced with the drug, the Associated Press reported.
