If you've ever wanted to visit the iconic McCallister family house from "Home Alone" - now is your chance to do it without facing booby traps and mischievous little boys.

After 12 years, the Winnetka, Illinois mansion is back on the market for $5.2 million, according to the Chicago-based Dawn McKenna Group at Coldwell Banker Realty.

"While much of the home will look familiar, you won't believe what the sellers have done to transform this famous home," the real estate group posted on Instagram. "Nearly doubling the livable footage and adding a state-of-the-art sports court!"

The Instagram ad intersperses contemporary footage of the home with clips from the 1990 classic - including the staircase where Kevin McCallister fought off the Wet Bandits.

"Fully renovated and expanded in 2018, the current owners took the utmost care in maintaining the architectural detail and integrity of the home's most memorable and recognizable spaces," a Zillow listing reads.

"The gracious foyer and unforgettable entry staircase, as well as the formal living and dining room spaces, all remain largely unchanged in form and structure."

While the film's premise relies on the fact that Kevin (played by Macaulay Culkin) is isolated in the red-brick Georgian Colonial, while his family visits Paris, the real-life homeowners lived on set during the duration of the filming.

The Abendshien family bought the property in 1988 for $800,000. They continued to own the now-iconic home until 2012, according to Business Insider. The family who bought the property from the Abendshiens paid $1.5 million, according to the Chicago Tribune.

"The house is famous, but we're just a family living here," said Cynthia Abendshien in a 2011 video, that was shared with Business Insider.

During the months-long shoot, the cast and crew became close to the property's actual residents, including Laura Abendshien, who was a little girl during filming.

"They would spend time in the house when they weren't filming their scenes. Macaulay Culkin used my room to study with his tutor, and his brother [Kieran Culkin] wasn't filming as much, so he would just hang out in my room," she told This Morning in 2020.

The mansion was first built in 1921 and sits on a half-acre lot, according to the real estate listing. It is 5,700 square feet and has five bedrooms and six bathrooms. There is also a fully-equipped gym, two laundry rooms, a heated three-car garage, a basketball court, a movie theater and a bar on the property.
