Buc-ee's co-founder Don Wasek's son, Mitchell Wasek, has been indicted on 21 felony counts of invasive visual recording for allegedly secretly filming guests at his family's properties, according to the Travis County District Attorney's Office.

On May 17, a grand jury returned six separate indictments against Wasek, 28, the DA's office announced this week. The charges relate to 13 separate victims who were allegedly secretly recorded in various states of undress across three separate properties.

Last year, party guests at Wasek's family's home on Lake Travis saw a suspicious charging port for a hidden camera in a bathroom wall. They took the camera and found recordings of the guests in varying states of undress, and reported it to the authorities. Wasek was arrested in October 2023.

According to an arrest affidavit, the camera allegedly contained dozens of recordings of at least 13 people "using the toilet, showering, changing clothes and/or having sex" in bathrooms at the lake house and two other properties owned by the Waseks, an Austin apartment and a home in Telluride, Colo.

Investigators also uncovered Wasek's Amazon purchase history, which allegedly included multiple hidden camera devices sent to multiple addresses.

"The Travis County District Attorney's Office takes the work of presenting all facts and evidence to a grand jury very seriously," Travis County District Attorney José Garza said in a statement. "In this case, a group of independent Travis County community members heard the evidence and law and decided that Mr. Wasek's conduct was unlawful."
