Tragedy sadly struck Massachusetts as an accused rapist out on bail killed his teen stepdaughter before turning the gun on himself.
Juliano Santana, 49, was granted bail following six counts of aggravated rape of a child.
The Middlesex District Attorney said the teen victim was walking on Great Road near her home in Acton after school when she was abducted by Santana.
Her mother reported her missing on Thursday around 4:00 p.m., according to The Daily Mail.
Authorities tracked Santana using a GPS monitoring device he was ordered to wear by the court.
They discovered the rapist inside his vehicle, parked at the Pine Hill Condominium, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Tragically, the sixteen-year-old was also found in the vehicle. She was declared dead at the scene.
She previously reported to officials in September 2021 that Santana had sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions.
He was arrested by police, given $30,000 bail, and later released with conditions that included wearing a GPS monitoring device and having no contact with the victim or anyone under 18.
Authorities disclosed that the teen also had an active restraining order against Santana.
His trial date has been scheduled for July 29, 2024.
