No. 7 Syracuse has struggled recently, going from winning 25 straight games to losing four of their last five. The Orange's latest loss came on Tuesday against Georgia Tech, 67-62.
"I'm not happy with tonight, but I'm very happy to be 26-4," Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said, via ESPN. "We're well ahead of predictions. We just have to regroup. I try to look at the big picture and not snapshots. We're in a good position."
The absence of sophomore forward Jerami Grant, who's been dealing with a back injury over the past few games, didn't make things easier for Syracuse (26-4) in their loss against Florida State.
"Not having him, he's a big part of our team," senior guard C.J. Fair said. "It could have been a different game if he was there. You never know, but it's a big blow to the team. ...
"We're just eager to get that win. Once we win a couple consecutive games, that will get us going."
Florida State (18-11), meanwhile, heads into Sunday's contest looking for their fourth straight win. The Seminoles are coming off a 74-70 win on Tuesday against Boston College.
"I'm more focused on getting this win because I know I want to make it to an NCAA tournament before my two years here is up," senior forward Robert Gilchrist said. "So that's what I'm more focused on. If we get this win, we increase our chances of making the tournament."
