The head of the United Nations' Palestinian refugee agency (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, says Israel bombed one of its schools in Gaza, killing 30 without any prior warning.

Israeli Defense Forces are claiming to have killed several terrorists in a "precise strike" on a Hamas compound allegedly located inside a UNRWA school within the Nuseirat area.

The military reported that 20-30 members of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad were gathered in three classrooms, all of which were separate from an area where civilians were sheltering, according to The Times of Israel.

"Another UNRWA school turned shelter attacked," Lazzarini wrote on X.

"Attacking, targeting, or using UN buildings for military purposes is a blatant disregard of International Humanitarian law."

Lazzarini added that "the coordinates of all its facilities, including the school Israeli forces bombed, with the Israeli army and other parties in the conflict."

"Many steps were taken before the strike to minimize the risk of harm to uninvolved people," the IDF responded. They also claimed to have analyzed aerial footage using precise intelligence.

In an evening press conference, IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said the military had identified at least nine Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives killed in the strike.

"Some of these terrorists participated in the massacre on October 7," Hagari added.
