Nearly a dozen people were reportedly hospitalized for heat exhaustion at Donald Trump's town hall in Arizona on Thursday when temperatures soared into the triple digits.
Eleven people were transported to a hospital from the Dream City Church near Phoenix as temperatures reached 110 degrees, KNXV-TV reported.
The station said some Trump supporters fainted and others were carted off in stretchers as they waited in long lines to get inside the event.
Inside, Trump didn't mention that his loyalists were taken to the hospital, but did note of the long lines outside waiting to get in.
Trump recently downplayed the effects of global warning in an interview on "Fox & Friends Weekend," saying it would eventually lead to more "beachfront property."
"The single biggest threat - not global warming. When they say that the seas will rise over the next 400 years - one-eighth of an inch, you know. Which means, basically, you have a little more beachfront property, OK? Think of it. The seas are going to rise. Who knows? But this is the big threat," he said.
Temperatures hit 112 degrees at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Thursday, the Arizona Republic reported, breaking the previous daily record set in 2016.
The Trump faithful had been lined up outside the church in the sun since Thursday morning to get a chance to see Trump.
But many were disappointed when officials told the hundreds still waiting that the church was at full capacity - around 4,500 people - when Trump arrived at around 1 p.m., the Arizona Republic reported.
Mike Petersen, of Phoenix, was among those who watched Trump's speech on livestream outside the church.
"I got to mingle with fellow patriots," Petersen, 39, told the outlet. "It was nice and relaxed. You could tell it was a little disorganized, but it was still good to be out here with the fellow patriots."
