A federal jury in Delaware has found Hunter Biden guilty of all three counts at his felony trial.

The president's son was charged with three felonies connected to a 2018 purchase of a gun. Prosecutors claimed he lied on a mandatory gun-purchase form by saying he was not illegally using or addicted to drugs.

The jury only took three hours to render the verdict. Hunter Biden stared straight ahead and showed little emotion as the verdict was read, the Associated Press reported.

Biden had pleaded not guilty and his defense said there was no evidence he was using drugs in the 11 days that he owned the gun.

He had claimed the Justice Department was pursuing the case against him due to pressure by Congressional Republicans.

Biden did not take the stand in his defense. He avoided cross-examination by choosing not to testify.

A deal with prosecutors fell apart last year after GOP lawmakers claimed he was getting preferential treatment.

Hunter Biden left court holding First lady Jill Biden's hand.

President Joe Biden offered a statement shortly after the guilty verdict, reiterating that he and Jill "love our son, and we are so proud of the man he is today."

"As I also said last week, I will accept the outcome of this case and will continue to respect the judicial process as Hunter considers an appeal," Biden said.

Hunter Biden could face up to 25 years in prison but could also walk away with probation.

The judge has not set a sentencing date yet but noted that it is normally about 120 days after a conviction in federal cases.

Hunter Biden faces another trial on tax charges slated to begin in September in California.
