Norway health officials have recalled Korean Ramen.

Health officials in Denmark have issued a recall on several flavors of spicy ramen noodles saying they dangerously strong.

The Norwegian Food Board has recalled three Samyang Buldak chili noodles: 3 x Spicy & Hot Chicken, 2 x Spicy & Hot chicken and Hot Chicken Stew.

The food safety agency warns the noodles are so hot they could cause "acute poisoning."

The amount of total capsaicin in a packet of noodles is so high to cause irritation of mucus, nausea, vomiting and severely high blood pressure, which at worst can be life threatening.

Capsaicin is the substance in chilli peppers that gives them their hot and spicy flavor.

The food board noted in a Facebook post that in Germany, poisoning cases have been seen in children and young people who have eaten very strong chili chips. They say the noodles contain even more chilis.

Consumers were recommended to throw them away or return them to the store.

Samyang Foods said this is the first recall over its spice levels.

"Currently, the products are being exported around the world, but this is the first time they have been recalled for this reason," a company spokesperson told the AFP news agency.
