
In a shocking twist, a fan took to the field at a Cincinnati Reds game and ended up being tased by a cop in a dramatic scene that played out in front of the crowd.
It happened in the ninth inning shortly before the Reds lost their game to the Washington Guardians.
The fan, identified as William Hendon, 19, ran up to Guardians center fielder Tyler Freeman.
The man, wearing a Johnny Bench jersey, started running off and did a flip as a police officer approved. As he started running the officer fired his stun gun. The shock brought an expression of anguish to his face as he crumpled onto the field.
A 19-year-old fan at the Reds-Guardians game at Great American Ball Park ran on the field and did a backflip before being tased by police. He appeared in court Wednesday. Officers surrounded Hendon and escorted him off of the field.
Hendon appeared in Hamilton County Municipal Court on Wednesday. He was charged with criminal trespassing and obstructing official business, according to WCPO-TV.
He pleaded not guilty and was released. Hendon is now banned from Great American Ball Park.
