Reward Doubled in Murder of Mother, 4-Year-Old Daughter in Florida

Florida law enforcement officials investigating the fatal shootings of a mother and her 4-year-old daughter have doubled the reward for information about the case.

The Broward County Sheriff's Office hiked the reward to $20,000 from $10,000.

"The reward for information leading to an arrest in the double homicide of a mother and her child on the Turnpike is increased again to up to $20,000. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is matching the last reward with an additional $10,000," the sheriff's department said in a statement issued Thursday.

Beatrice Saintvil, 27, and her daughter, Janelle Souffrant, were found inside a car stopped on the shoulder on the Florida Turnpike near Hollywood just before midnight last Friday night, the sheriff's office said in a statement.

Janelle was pronounced dead at the scene; Saintvil died at a hospital.
