A 38-year-old man and his 14-year-old daughter drowned while swimming in Texas' San Jacinto River during a Father's Day outing to a private park near Houston.

The aquatic tragedy took place around 7 p.m. Sunday when the unidentified relatives didn't resurface after going underwater, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Divers recovered the girl's body during an overnight search, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said on social media Monday morning.

In an update about an hour later, Gonzalez said the father's body had also been pulled from the river.

The address cited by the sheriff is that of the Xtreme Off Road Park and Beach in Crosby.

The 1,600-acre site has trails for all-terrain vehicles, camping areas and a marina, according to its website.

The park didn't immediately return a request for comment.
