Ariel Marchan-Le Quire was arrested by police in Florida after she allegedly stole an ambulance from a children's hospital and led deputies on a harrowing chase through Fort Myers.

A Florida woman was arrested after stealing an ambulance from a children's hospital and leading deputies on a wild chase through the streets of Fort Myers, according to the sheriff's office.

Ariel Marchan-Le Quire, 30, allegedly stole the emergency vehicle from Golisano Children's Hospital Thursday morning and deputies tracked it via its GPS system to a nearby gas station, the Lee County Sheriff's Office said.

When deputies confronted Marchan-Le Quire at the station, she fled.

"This ambulance is all over the road and it's running red lights. It's going to end up killing someone. It's purposefully, recklessly driving crazy," a deputy says in a video of the chase released by the sheriff's office.

As they pursued the ambulance, deputies said Marchan-Le Quire was swerving between lanes, banging into curbs and nearly flipping the vehicle over.

She pulled over at one point, but when deputies approached she took off again, turning on the emergency lights.

Deputies halted their pursuit, but a helicopter continued to track her.

When she pulled over again, deputies arrested her.

Marchan-Le Quire was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a crash, resisting an officer, fleeing and eluding, and theft of emergency equipment, the sheriff's office said. No one was injured in the chase, and the ambulance was empty.
