Decomposed human remains found at a wastewater treatment plant near the Texas apartment where missing college student Caleb Harris vanished must undergo DNA analysis for positive identification.

A Perry Place wastewater lift station worker found the remains in a Corpus Christi, Texas, collection well Monday, according to police.

Authorities have not confirmed if the corpse –– which "bore no obvious signs of homicide" –– belongs to the 21-year-old Texas A&M student who was reported missing by his roommates after disappearing from their off-campus apartment in the middle of the night March 4, according to police.

Prior to vanishing, Harris sent a Snapchat photo of a bridge over a drainage ditch within a few hundred feet of the apartment entrance to a friend in San Antonio around 3 a.m., according to police.

Harris' roommates reported him missing hours later when they were unable to locate him –– who they previously described as a "homebody and a creature of habit" –– and realized his keys and wallet were in the apartment, while his pickup truck remained in the parking lot.

Throughout their investigation, police have said there is no evidence of a struggle or foul play found within the apartment or in the immediate area, and friends and family had been "extremely cooperative" during its entirety.
