Ohio Man, Igmidio Mista, Arrested In Shooting Death Of Three Men

A man in Ohio was arrested on Monday in connection to the shooting deaths of three men on Saturday night, SeattlePi.com reported.

Igmidio Mista, 33, is facing three counts of murder for allegedly killing Elmore Police Officer Jose Andy Chavez, 26; bartender Ramiro Sanchez, 28; and customer Daniel Ramirez, 25.

A fourth man, 25-year-old Ramiro Arreola, was injured in the incident but was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred as Chavez was celebrating his birthday at the Last Call Bar in northern Ohio. A man allegedly came up to Chavez's wife and began arguing with her. After the man punched his wife, Chavez began fighting with the man.

"My nephews jumped on this guy," the officer's uncle, Manuel Chavez, told the Sandusky Register.

According to Chavez, the man left the bar and came back with a gun and opened fire.

Police Chief Tim Wiersma said authorities arrested Mista at a home in Fremont without incident. It is not clear if he has an attorney yet.

"It is sad that an altercation in a bar went so terribly out of control. I am sad for all of the victims and their tragic deaths," Wiersma said. "All of the victims were from our community and, yes, one being a fellow police officer makes it even harder."

Jose Andy Chavez was with the Elmore Police Department for more than two years and was an "exemplary" officer, Sgt. Jeffrey Harrison said in a statement.

Chavez is survived by his wife and two daughters.
