The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man suspected in the 2021 fatal shooting of an Illinois National Guardsman in Chicago.

Chrys Carvajal was gunned down days before he turned 20 after leaving a neighborhood Fourth of July party. Two men are accused of murdering Carvajal for the "purpose of maintaining and increasing their positions in the Milwaukee Kings street gang," the U.S. Attorney's office said in a release.

One of the men, Joseph "Troubles" Matos, 41, who is on the run, was indicted last month on racketeering and gun charges by the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois. He was charged with fellow Milwaukee Kings street gang member Gary "Gotti" Roberson, 40, who has been arrested and remains in federal custody pending trial.

A warrant has been issued for Matos' arrest.

The FBI said Matos is armed and dangerous, and cautioned the public not to approach him directly.

It directs anyone with information to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or go to tips.fbi.gov.
