An autopsy has revealed oxycodone and erectile dysfunction drugs were found in the blood of gunman Anthony Polito, 67, who shot four faculty members at the University of Las Vegas last year.
The Clark County T and Medical Examiner's Office findings show Polito's system tested positive for both oxycodone and tadalafil.
Tadalafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction as well as hypertension and prostate enlargement, while Oxycodone is an opioid generally used for medium to severe pain, KSNV-TV reported.
Polito had 15 nanograms per milliter of oxycodone in his system, according to the Clark County Coroner's report obtained by KLAS-TV.
The typical dose of oxycodone prescribed to adults is five milligrams every six hours, the report stated.
A forensic pathologist ruled that Polito died from multiple gunshot wounds and determined his death was homicide.
Following several rejections to teach at UNLV, Polito shot four people on the University of Las Vegas campus on December 6, 2023, three of whom died from their injuries.
He was ultimately killed in a shootout with two university officers outside Beam Hall.
Polito was a professor at East Carolina University in North Carolina until his resignation in 2017.
Multiple students accused him of making inappropriate comments or advances while employed by the school.
