A Ryanair flight was just 36 minutes into its journey when fists also started flying as an intense brawl broke out between passengers mid-air.

According to individuals on the flight, several passengers started screaming at one another from across the plane while 30,000 feet in the air.

A passenger on board the evening flight from Agadir to London Stansted on Wednesday told The Sun that an argument ensued between two families during boarding.

Allegedly, it all began when a man, believed to be in his 20s, asked another passenger if they would be willing to move so that they could sit with his wife and young children.

The woman, who was sitting with her own daughter, reportedly declined to move, which immediately prompted the man to start threatening her.

While the flight took off with no problems, as soon as the seat belt signs came off, the woman's husband, believed to be in his 30s, is said to have jumped to his wife's defense against the man threatening her.

Soon, punches were being thrown between the two men while the staff reportedly tried to intervene.

A 36-year-old finance worker from Herts who wishes to remain anonymous told the news outlet:

"They were trying to punch each other. One of the families was part of a larger group, so other passengers started to join in."

He then revealed that a woman sitting in the row behind started having a panic attack and began screaming, causing children to cry, and from there it was a "snowball effect."

"We were only in the air for 36 minutes before we had to do an unexpected landing. It was so stressful, he continued.

It was like a flight from hell. And it all escalated from that one passenger wanting to change seats."

The plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Marrakesh.

Moroccan police then escorted the nine individuals involved off of the plane.

The situation took another turn for the worse when a passenger became ill during the altercation and had to be given oxygen mid-flight.

A spokesperson for Ryanair said he was treated by medics on landing, who ultimately deemed him unfit to fly.

Refusing to get off the aircraft, he became abusive towards the cabin crew.

He can be heard saying in the cellphone footage:

"They think I'm a terrorist. That's why they're bringing the whole army here to take me down.

"Give me my f****** bag. I will whack your jaw, bruv.".

Other passengers begged him to leave the plane before police finally removed him.

The spokesperson disclosed,

"It took almost two hours in total to treat and offload these disruptive passengers, during which time the rest of the passengers remained onboard, the crew reached their permitted flying hours, and the flight to be delayed overnight."
