Rep. Matt Gaetz Mocked Over Appearance During RNC Speech: 'Looks Very Unhinged'

Florida Representative Matt Gaetz was ruthlessly trolled on social media after giving his speech at the Republican National Convention.

Gaetz spoke at the convention in Milwaukee on Wednesday night to reaffirm his loyalty to GOP nominee and former President Donald Trump while slamming President Joe Biden in the process.

However, online spectators seemed more interested in Gaetz's appearance than his speech due, to his stiff and unmoving forehead and high cheekbones.

Users instantly took to X to mock the congressman.

Ron Filipkowski posted a short clip with the caption, "Gaetz got a little carried away with the Botox before his big speech."

Greta Grace joked, "Matt Gaetz is two white tigers and a life partner from having a Vegas act."

While user @yourdadssidepiece compared a regular photo of Gaetz to a shot of him at the RNC, writing, "Drag race regular season vs. all stars,"

"Matt Gaetz (R-Botox)," cracked journalist Peter Hamby.

Another user compared Gaetz to the puppets in a 2004 action comedy film, writing, "Matt Gaetz looks like someone from Team America World Police came to life," quoted Newsweek.

Others used the opportunity to criticize his position on transgender policies and his opposition to drag shows. "Using this much botox/filler is gender-affirming care, btw," posted comedian Rohita Kadambi.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy spoke with CNN and commented on Gaetz's appearance. "He looks very unhinged. A lot of people have concerns about him, and I'm not sure if he was on something. But I do hope that he gets the help that he needs. More importantly, I hope the young women get the justice they deserve when it comes to him."

Gaetz is currently under investigation by the House Ethics Committee over allegations that he engaged in sexual misconduct and illegal drug use.
