One woman was killed and two others were wounded in a Samurai-style sword attack near Los Angeles apparently stemming from a domestic dispute, according to a report.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputies responded to a call Thursday afternoon in San Dimas and encountered a woman with blood on her leg and hands holding the sword, KTLA reported.
The woman waved down the deputies and then laid the blade down.
"That female then directs them to a residence on the street where the deputies find an additional female also suffering from lacerations, who was later pronounced dead at the scene," Lt. Daniel Vizcarra of the sheriff's department said, the station reported.
"As they continued through the residence, an additional female was found in the residence unharmed, who was also transferred to a local hospital due to a medical emergency."
Deputies said it's unclear what sparked the violence, adding the investigation is proceeding slowly because the women only speak Mandarin Chinese.
"The preliminary investigation suggests that there may be a family connection, but again, because of the language barrier, we have not confirmed that," Vizcarra said.
