Visitors to Yellowstone National Park were strolling along the boardwalk in Biscuit Basin Tuesday when the hot spring began bubbling up from beneath the earth's surface and started to explode into the air.

It was a localized hydrothermal explosion occurred near Sapphire Pool in Biscuit Basin, located just north of Old Faithful, according to the National Park Service.

Suddenly, rocks began raining down from the sky.

Spectators are seen frantically running away from the Basin.

There were no injuries and Biscuit Basin is temporarily closed, according to the NPS.
