West Indies won the series' first T20 on Sunday by 27 runs. Marlon Samuels earned the Man of the Match award for scoring a game-high 69 runs, not out, and taking two wickets. Chris Gayle added 43 runs; Samuel Badree took a game-high three wickets, and Sunil Narine took one.

"Narine and Badree will be crucial players for us in Bangladesh's conditions which suit West Indies cricket," Samuels said on Sunday of the upcoming World T20, via IB Times. "Badree's a wonderful bowler and he showed it again today by picking up early wickets."

Tim Bresnan and Ravi Bopara led England in runs with 47 and 42, respectively. England's bowlers struggled against West Indies' batsmen; Bopara accounted for two of the three wickets England took.

A win is essential for England to keep the series alive.

"It's about remaining upbeat and confident," England batting coach Graham Thorpe said. "We need to be positive in our play if we are going to do well in the World T20. We're certainly not going to panic, but we're not going to stand here and say we played spin well on Sunday. We didn't. "
