Former Teacher, Eric Toth, Sentenced To 25 Years For Producing Child Porn

A former teacher in the nation's capital was sentenced to 25 years in prison on Tuesday for producing child porn, Reuters reported.

Eric Toth, 32, pleaded guilty to charges that accused him of taking photographs and videos of children while working as a camp counselor in Wisconsin, as a teacher in D.C.'s Beauvoir School, and at a Maryland home.

Toth reportedly placed a camera disguised as an air freshener to record children in the school bathroom, the Associated Press reported.

According to a statement released by the U.S. Attorney's Office, U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras sentenced Toth to 25 years in prison and lifetime supervision after his release.

"I know I've hurt people, a lot of people," Toth said in court. "I've really contributed to making the world a kind of place I don't want to live in."

After authorities began investigating Toth in 2008, he fled the Washington area. Four years later, he was placed on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted List. In April 2013, he was arrested in Nicaragua and extradited to the U.S.

In December, the ex-teacher pleaded guilty to three counts of production of child pornography and to one count each of misuse of a Social Security number and identity theft.
