'The Flash' Costume Revealed: DC Comics Release First Image Of Grant Gustin As Barry Allen (PHOTO)

DC Comics has released the first image of the CW's upcoming television series "The Flash," based of the popular series.

The image shows a costume designed by Colleen Atwood, who is also credited for creating Arrow's costume as well, according to a news release. "The Flash" actor Grant Gustin pulls off the suit quite nicely.

"I hope the fans who treasure the character are as excited as we are by what costume designer Colleen Atwood has achieved with this latest version of The Flash's iconic suit," show executive producer David Nutter said in a statement.

"The Flash" is reportedly filming the pilot episode and is slated to premiere on the CW sometime in 2014-2015. The show's current cast includes Jesse L. Martin as Detective West, Rick Cosnett as Eddie Thawne, Danielle Panabaker as Caitlin Snow, Candice Patton as Iris West, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon and Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells.

The CW has yet to officially pick up the Warner Bros. show series.

In other DC Comics news, "Batman vs. Superman" director Zack Snyder recently talked about his first reaction to seeing the new Batsuit during an interview with Hero Complex.

"We were just testing the suits, right? The new Batsuit and the Superman suit," Snyder told Hero Complex. "It wasn't even with the actors, right? It was just to see 'em. I was standing there, they were standing next to each other. And I was like, 'Guys, someone take a picture! This has never happened before.' We slightly dork out. Like, 'Are you kidding me?!'"

Unfortunately, Snyder didn't reveal when the big Batsuit reveal will take place, even with multiple rumors floating around claiming the debut will happen in April. However, the director told Hero Complex he plans on "exploding" the Batman/Superman universes.

"[The movie] literally takes the "Man of Steel" and "Batman" universes and explodes them," he told Hero Complex. "You're not as tied to the mythology. In "Man of Steel," we had to create an origin story, a mythology, and there's a lot of energy into that, which we love doing. Don't get me wrong. But when you think about how fun it is too - now that you've got these characters - to now let 'em loose."

"Batman vs. Superman" is slated to hit theaters on May 6, 2016.
