No. 24 Ohio State ended their two-game losing streak in their regular-season finale on Sunday against Michigan State, 69-67. The Buckeyes' win against the No. 22 Spartans could set them back on track heading into the Big Ten tournament.
"We're looking for the same thing we look for every year -- win the Big Ten championship," Buckeyes junior forward Sam Thompson said, via ESPN. "Our goals haven't changed because of our seed or because of losses in the regular season."
Junior forward LaQuinton Ross leads the team in scoring with 14.8 points per game, and senior guard Aaron Craft continues to be a playmaker with 4.6 assists and 9.5 points per game.
"They're capable of winning the Big Ten Tournament," Purdue coach Matt Painter said of the Ohio State squad. "We know how good they are and we just have to do a better job of not beating ourself."
Purdue (15-16) ended the regular season on a six-game losing streak. Their most recent loss, a 74-65 loss at home to North Western, marked the Boilermakers' 16th defeat of the season.
Senior guard Terone Johnson is the team's leading scorer with 12.0 points per game, and sophomore center A.J. Hammons is averaging 10.7 points and a team-high 7.4 rebounds per game.
