A Chinese woman cut off her ex-lover's penis with a pair of scissors and then beat him to death with a hammer, WKRC-TV reported.
Yeung Ki, 41, allegedly killed her ex-lover, 32-year-old Zhou Hui, because he raped her and assaulted her daughter, the South China Morning Post reported according to WKRC-TV.
Ki, who is currently facing trial at the Hong Kong High Court, said she killed Zhou but denies she committed murder during the incident that took place in 2012.
The woman incapacitated Hui by feeding him soup that contained sleeping pills. Ki "cut off his penis and flushed it down the toilet," prosecutor Nicholas Adams said according to WKRC-TV. Zhou woke up from the pain and began to hit Ki.
Ki then took a hammer and used "almost uncountable" force to smash her ex-lover's face and back of the head, Adams said.
The woman said she was suffering from depression and was provoked to attack him. Ki told police that Zhou had beaten her and her daughter, who is four-years-old, because she did not give him $28,000 to buy a new car, WKRC-TV reported.
Zhou also raped her because she would not give him the money. He then threatened to post naked pictures of her online.
The abuse did not stop there. During one altercation in December 2012, Zhou allegedly beat Ki again over a money dispute. He reportedly slapped Ki's daughter and forced her onto the balcony. Zhou then raped Ki in the bedroom, WKRC-TV reported.
Ki told police she covered Zhou's body with a mattress after she killed him and took her daughter to the welfare department the next day. Ki told the social worker she killed Zhou.
"I cut it," Ki said, WKRC-TV reported. "I think it was cruel. I did not mean it."
