A third suspect was arrested on Friday night for involvement in the death of Aspen socialite Nancy Pfister, the New York Daily News reported.
Kathy Carpenter -- reportedly one of Pfister's close assistants and the one who found her body and notified police -- was charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.
Pfister, whose parents founded a popular ski resort in Aspen, was discovered dead in her home on Feb. 26 after returning from vacation in Australia. According to her Facebook page, she was having difficulties with William and Nancy Styler, who were renting her Aspen home while she was away.
"Hi everyone I'm still in Australia and I'd like to stay in Australia but the people that were supposedly taking care of my house are not doing what they said they would do," she allegedly posted on January 21. "...if you have any ideas how to help me get someone in the house around February 22 it (sic) be great thank you!!!!"
Though the Facebook post did not mention names, Pfister claimed the tenants were not paying rent and weren't taking care of her dog, Gabe, which she said gave them a discounted rate.
On March 3, both Stylers were arrested and charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Now, investigators believe Carpenter worked with the couple to kill Pfister.
According to the Daily News, authorities have still not disclosed how Pfister died or other details surrounding the case.
