Homeless Man Attacked By Two Off-Duty Firefighters In Seattle

A homeless man was attacked by two off-duty firefighters and their friend in Seattle on Saturday night, KIRO-TV reported.

According to authorities, a woman and the two firefighters -- whose names have not been released -- were intoxicated when the incident began before 6 p.m.

As the three were walking, the woman allegedly began yelling at the homeless man, who was sleeping on a memorial, and then kicked him. Both firefighters joined the woman is harassing him, hitting the man with a stick.

A witness who reportedly saw the incident unfold said he heard one of the attackers say "my brother died in the service."

The homeless man got up to defend himself and ended up stabbing one of the firefighters, who was transported to Harborview Medical Center and treated for his stab wound. The hospital listed him in stable condition.

The second firefighter and woman were not injured in the attack and the homeless man refused to receive medical treatment, according to KIRO.

The two uninjured suspects were booked in King County Jail for assault. Though the third suspect was not taken to jail because of his injury, he is expected to be charged soon.
