Pennsylvania High School Teacher, Emily Nesbit, Admits To Sex Act With Student

A high school teacher in Pennsylvania faces charges for allegedly performing a sex act with a male student, PennLive.com reported.

Emily Nesbit, a 31-year-old teacher at Cumberland Valley High School, is currently under investigation by the Silver Spring Township Police. School officials released a statement on Wednesday announcing her resignation, two days after they learned of the allegations.

"While we are unable to provide details, we can assure that when District administration learned on March 10, 2014, of allegations of misconduct involving a teacher, District administration immediately notified local law enforcement and the District Attorney's Office in accordance with the Child Protective Services Law," the statement read.

"That same day, the employee in question was removed from the school building and placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation by both law enforcement and District administration. On March 12, 2014, the teacher resigned from Cumberland Valley School District effective immediately."

Search warrants were filed to obtain the cell phones of Nesbit and the student in order to investigation their activity. According to the warrant, a student at the school searched through the phone of the male student and reported conversations between Nesbit and the student.

Once he was interviewed by police, the unidentified student said he had met with Nesbit several times after school. He also claimed she performed a sexual act on him and that they had been speaking outside of school for about two months.

When authorities searched the student's phone, they found Nesbit's contact information stored under "My Lady Friend" in addition to pictures of both of them in states of undress. Additionally, Nesbit sent the student a message expressing her desire to have sex with him.

Nesbit was also interviewed by police on Tuesday where she admitted to the sex act and communicating with the student outside of school. Charges against her are pending.
