The Clippers (48-20) head into Monday's game looking for their 12th straight win. They sit third in the Western Conference, one game behind No. 2 Oklahoma City, largely because of the MVP-caliber performance of star Blake Griffin.
Griffin, who's averaging 24.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, emerged as a superstar earlier this year when guard Chris Paul was sidelined with a shoulder injury. While Griffin mid-season performance is a big part of the Clippers' success, he insists his numbers are only so high because of his team.
"The stretch of games that we've played and we've been successful has been a huge team effort," Griffin said, via ESPN. "Guys have stepped up and really done their part. With our team, I don't think it's one guy that's making us go. I genuinely believe it's been a total team effort."
Although the Clippers have strung together 11 straight wins, the team has struggled playing in Denver -- they've lost 12 of their last 14 games at Pepsi Center, included the last three.
Denver, though, has recently struggled. The Nuggets (29-37) lost six of their last 10 games, including Saturday's loss to Atlanta. Key injuries to players such as Danilo Gallinari, JaVale McGee and Nate Robinson have Denver sitting 10 games out from the eighth playoff seed in the Western Conference.
