Michael Beasley Investigated For Alleged Sexual Assault

NBA player Michael Beasley is under investigation for an alleged sexual assault from January.

CBS Sports reports the Scottsdale, Ariz., police department confirmed on Tuesday that they are investigating Beasley in connection with an alleged sexual assault.

"At this point we can only say the investigation is ongoing," a Scottsdale police spokesman said. "We are interviewing those involved and processing any physical evidence we may have to try and determine if criminal charges are appropriate."

The assault reportedly happened on Jan. 13. No further details were made available.

This isn't Beasley's first run-in with law enforcement. Police ticketed Beasley in 2011 for possession of marijuana after getting pulled over for speeding in Minnesota.

Beasley, the second-over all pick of the 2008 draft, just finished his first season with the Phoenix Suns. He averaged career-lows of 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Phoenix signed Beasley last July to a three-year, $18 million contract, but the 6-foot-10 forward saw only limited time on the court.
