Two people died after a news helicopter for KOMO-TV in Seattle crashed into the street on Tuesday, CBS 12 reported.
According to authorities, two cars were involved in the deadly crash, which took place near the iconic Space Needle. One man was seen running from the scene with his sleeve on fire and was extinguished by officers, CBS reported.
In addition to the two fatalities, the Seattle Fire Department said a third person was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.
It is unknown if the people inside of the helicopter are among the dead or injured.
"It just blew up instantly," witness Chris McColgan told The Seattle Times. "The crazy thing is, the movies get it exactly right. It's that big ... It felt like a movie. It still feels like a movie.."
The KOMO helicopter was lifting off from it's roof when it hit the side of another building and crashed, according to the AP.
Firefighters were able to contain the flames within 30 minutes.
