Are you still shocked that MTV's "Teen Wolf" killed off Allison Argent, one of the show's main characters? During Monday's Mar. 17 episode, Allison was stabbed in the stomach by one of the oni and died in the arms of her ex-boyfriend Scott McCall (Tyler Posey).
Immediately following the episode MTV launched a special memorial website where fans could go to see clips of the cast giving their "eulogies" and say their own goodbyes to the fan-favorite character.
"Allison Argent was one of the most well written, powerful, unique, independent and effective female characters of all time. She managed to stand up for herself and those she loved without little to no support from others, and its quite sad to say the sacrifices she made lead to her untimely death," fan Leyla Hawn A wrote on the website. "At least she left as the true person she was, a heroine.
"She was definitely a character I, as someone around the same age as her, could look up to," the fan continued. "Rest in peace knowing that you did, in fact, protect those who could not protect themselves. Goodbye Allison."
On the site actress Crystal Reed, who plays Allison, also addressed the death of her character.
"I knew that one episode [towards the end] would be my last episode and I remember texting [executive producer] Jeff [Davis] and asking him about it and he said he was writing it and it was really difficult for him to write because he just wanted to make me proud and he wanted to make Allison proud," Reed said in a video on the memorial site.
In an interview Davis said he was a little reluctant to kill off Allison at first. According to Syracuse.com, MTV brought up the idea of shaking things up with the show and brought up the idea of killing off a main character.
"As the creator of the show, these characters were like my children," he said but eventually agreed to remove a character.
However, Davis said he wanted to make sure the death would be respectful to both Reed and her character.
"You can start to feel like [it's] a cheap ratings grab," he said. "Our audience feels so passionate about the show. The characters live and breathe for them, so you don't want to cheapen it."
