New York Woman, Billie Jo Ribble, Pleads Guilty To Pennsylvania Kidnapping

A woman from upstate New York pleaded guilty on Wednesday to kidnapping a woman and her infant from their home at knifepoint last year, ABC News reported.

Billie Jo Ribble, 36, of Bath, entered her plea in federal court in Rochester. Sentencing was scheduled for June 25, where she faces up to 20 years in prison.

Last March, Ribble was arrested in Pennsylvania on burglary charges. She then told police she was seven months pregnant and was taken to the hospital for stomach pains.

Authorities claim that when she was hospitalized, she assaulted her hospital guard and jumped out of a third-story window to a second-story rooftop and made her way down.

Ribble then made her way to a nearby home and kidnapped a woman and her six-month-old infant at knifepoint. After threatening to kill the baby, the woman, and herself, Ribble forced the woman to drive her to New York, where police found her at her boyfriend's house. She was eventually captured in Corning.
