Cheryl Walker, "Fast & Furious" star Paul Walker's mother, is reportedly filing for guardianship for her 15-year-old granddaughter, Meadow.
TMZ reports Cheryl is seeking guardianship of her granddaughter because Meadow's mother, Rebecca Soteros, has a "serious drinking problem." Meadow reportedly lived with Paul for three years before his death in November. Meadow has lived with her grandparents since Paul's death.
"As we previously reported, Rebecca has 2 DUIs, one in 2003 and another last year," TMZ reports. "We're told Meadow moved from Hawaii, where Rebecca lived, to live with Paul 3 years before he died because of her mom's problems with alcohol."
Paul cited in his will he wanted Meadow to live with his mother if anything were to happen to him. He also made his daughter the sole beneficiary to his $16 million estate.
The cast of "Fast & Furious 7" are slated to resume filming in April, but they all have deeply mourned the death of the their off-screen friend. Soon after Paul's death in November, Tyrese Gibson opened up to The Arsenio Hall Show about his grief.
"I've never been depressed in my life, but I was very very sad and down, and it took me a minute to shake it," Gibson told Arsenio. "So I just turned 35 and on a spiritual level, I say God sends me emails on what to do, where to go or who to communicate or connect with. And he sent me an email to go to Dubai, and I went to Dubai. And that was the best thing that ever happened."
"This is my first interview since it happened, and you know what gave me my smile is really thinking about the fact that I've never seen him cry," he added, referring to Walker. "I've never see him sad and his energy was always up. So why would I be crying and sad and messed up?"
