The American University Eagles play the Wisconsin Badgers on Thursday in the 2014 NCAA Tournament round of 64. Tipoff is at 12:40 p.m. ET. Listen to the live radio broadcast or watch the live stream via the links provided below.
Second-seeded Wisconsin starts the tournament against 15th-seeded American. The Badgers ended their regular season with a loss to Nebraska and made it to the Big Ten semifinals before falling to Michigan State.
Despite the uneven finish, American coach Mike Brennan knows Wisconsin is lethal because of the firepower they have on court.
"They're scoring a ton of points this year, they're getting out in transition," Brennan told the Associated Press. "It's more than just the offense that everyone talks about, the swing offense."
In preparation for American's Princeton-style offense, the Badgers looked to backup forward Zach Bohannon, who played in a similar type of offense at Air Force before transferring.
"As long as we don't get beat backdoor, that's the biggest thing," Bohannon said. "You can watch any Princeton team, the whole system is predicated on the backdoor cut and 3-point shots."
American heads into Thursday's contest with three straight wins under their belt. They improved from last year's 10-20 record under Brennan, who helped turnaround the Eagles' program in a short time.
"It was able to give us new life from a team that struggled the year before and kind of give us a new look," said sophomore guard Jesse Reed, who leads American in scoring. "Found a way to get all of our talents together and work together on the court well."
