Hip-Hop mogul Sean Combs is once again going by the name of Puff Daddy. The name change was discreetly announced in a new teaser video for his upcoming single, "Big Homie," featuring Rick Ross and French Montana. The single drops Mar. 31.
Apparently the new name is in honor of his first album in four years, "MMM," Radio.com reports. Combs, who has also gone by the nicknames P. Diddy, Puff, Puffy, Puff Daddy and most recently Diddy, has not announced when the upcoming album will be released.
Even though reports claims he has changed his name, Diddy tweeted that he has always been - and will always be - Puff Daddy.
"For the record, I did not change my name. I always have been and always will be PUFF DADDY! Be cool Man lol #MMM #BigHomie," he tweeted.
Are you as confused as we are? In an interview last year with Speakeasy, Diddy aka Puff Daddy opened up about his constant name changing saying that he probably should have just stuck with one name.
"Looking back on it, it's probably been one of my biggest branding mistakes," he said at the time.
He explained that an Internet search of his different names brings up a ton of different results and he is currently trying to figure out how to fix that.
"It was just being young and not being strategic and having lots of nicknames," he continued. "When you're growing up in the inner city neighborhood, that's really common - there may be someone called Joseph, they may call him Jojo, they may call him Pop Pop because he likes lollipops."
Because a lot of people aren't sure which name he's going by these days, the hip-hop mogul tells "most people [to call him] Sean."
