Cleveland ended New York's eight-game winning streak on Sunday, dropping the Knicks to a 29-41 record. With the regular season winding down and sitting two games out of the eighth playoff spot, the Knicks need every win they can get.

"This was a huge opportunity lost, one we can't afford," Knicks guard J.R. Smith said, via ESPN. "But we can't get it back. We've just got to go on the road, win some games and try to come back home and win."

Knicks star Carmelo Anthony, who scored 32 points in the team's 106-100 loss, agreed it was a tough loss but stressed the need to move on.

"It's tough. We should've won this game. We gave it away," said Anthony. "They earned it, they beat us. We didn't play well coming down the stretch or in the second half and they did. But it's behind us now, there's nothing we can do about that."

The Knicks kick off their five-game road trip on Tuesday against a lottery-bound Lakers team. Los Angeles (23-46) snapped their four-game losing streak on Sunday with a 103-94 win against Orlando. While there's no chance of a playoff berth this season, the Lakers are still adamant about ending the regular season with as many wins as possible.

"We're playing for pride," Lakers forward Jordan Hill said. "I mean, we're still the Lakers. We're definitely one of the top organizations in the league, if not the best. So we have to take a stand for ourselves. We can't quit and we've got to keep fighting."
