A young couple was found fatally shot inside their Queens apartment on Thursday night, CBS News reported.
Officers discovered the bodies of Natalie Mejia-Tavares, 21, and an unidentified male around 6:30 p.m. Mejia-Tavares was shot in the torso and the male was shot in the head.
A weapon was not recovered and both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Lt. John Grimpel told the New York Times that police arrived at the house after a relative of one of the victims discovered the bodies and call 911.
According to a neighbor, the two were dating and recently moved in together.
Police are continuing their search for a weapon and a suspect.
Earlier on Thursday, 19-year-old Carl Richardson was killed at a barbershop in Queens. He was rushed to Franklin General Hospital where he was pronounced dead around 2 p.m.
Authorities arrested a suspect -- 34-year-old Cedric Simpson -- and charged him with second-degree murder and criminal possesion of a weapon.
