Ben Affleck wasn't the number one choice for Bruce Wayne in "Batman vs. Superman," but he beat out actor Josh Brolin for the role.
During an interview with Yahoo, Brolin explained he had a conversation about taking on Batman in the "Man of Steel" sequel with director Zack Snyder, but both agreed he wasn't right for the role.
However, Brolin couldn't believe how "disrespectful" some fans and outlets after the casting backlash against Affleck. He felt Affleck didn't deserve the negativity for being chosen to take on the role.
"People were so disrespectful, How can you blame an actor for acting? I understand you're a fan, but people forget that actors are human," Brolin told Yahoo. "When you're sitting in front of a computer it's easy to go, 'Well, I wish he would die. Send.' But somebody's going to read that. Their kids are going to read it and the wife is going to read it. We're so computer-oriented that we forget."
