Fox network has spilled the beans. The network has already announced the pickup of five new comedies and four new dramas for their 2013-14 season... ahead of schedule.
Each year TV-station execs from ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW meet up for what is known as Broadcast Upfront Week where they reveal to advertisers and the world what shows will be added to their prime time lineups.
Broadcast Upfront Week doesn't officially begin until May 12, but Fox released some of their new lineup on Wednesday.
On the comedy side, Fox has ordered "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", "Dads", "Enlisted", "Us & Them" and "Surviving Jack."
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is a single-camera comedy about a mismatched set of cops. The show will star "SNL" slum Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher. Seth MacFarlane, Seth Green and Giovanni Ribisi play childhood friends in "Dads" whose fathers move back in with them. Three brothers on a Florida Army base is what "Enlisted" will be centered on. The show was written and created by "South Park" veteran Kevin Biegal.
The also network decided to pick up an adaption of a BBC sitcom "Gavin & Stacey." The show premiering on Fox called "Us & Them" starring Jason Ritter and Alexis Bledel is about two lovers trying to make a long distance relationship work.
Finishing up the comedy side is "Surviving Jack." The show is set in Southern California during the 1990s and centers on a father-son relationship. It is based on the semi-autobiographical book, "I Suck at Girls" by Justin Halpern.
Fox is also picking four dramas. One show already creating a lot of buzz is "Almost Human" starring Michael Ealy and Karl Urban. The show is set 25 years in the future and is about "flesh-and-blood cops" working alongside androids.
Joel Wyman, co-creator of the show tweeted the news that Fox had picked up the pilot.
Their second drama is another law enforcement series, "Gang Related, about a member of L.A.'s anti-gang task-force who finds his loyalties divided.
Another series called "Rake" is about "a cantankerous attorney/degenerate gambler," reports Adweek. Some are calling it a "House" with lawyers.
Last but not least is the action-adventure "Sleepy Hollow," which puts a sci-fi spin on the familiar tale. Tom Mison plays Ichabod Crane who is revived from the grave and dragged 250 years into the future to help solve a historical mystery.
Fox will announce its complete fall lineup at its upfront presentation Monday in New York City.
