Samsung Launches Galaxy Tab4 Series; Adds Three New Tablets With Different Screen Sizes

Samsung has officially launched the all-new Galaxy Tab4 series with three new tablets in the lineup, Galaxy Tab4 7.0, Galaxy Tab4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab4 10.1.

The rumor mill can stop now. Samsung has officially launched three new tablets with different screen sizes as a part of the new Galaxy Tab 4 lineup. The South Korean tech giant announced the three new tablets in the series, Galaxy Tab4 7.0, Galaxy Tab4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab4 10.1, which represent respective screen sizes. The new Tab4 lineup is thinner and lighter, but shares major similarities with the Galaxy Tab 3 series.

The new Galaxy Tab series follows series of rumors and reports hinting at a possible launch, but no word of confirmation from the smartphone maker, until now. Popular mobile tipster, @evleaks, shared two press renders of the Galaxy Tab4 7.0 in black and white variants last week, which has now been confirmed by Samsung. The specifications of the tablet were not revealed, but a detailed press release by the manufacturer gives a clearer picture of the new tablet range.

In a press release on Tuesday, Samsung showed three new tablets, with sleek and a premium deisngn featured with textured back cover. The new Tab4 series, like its predecessor, is suitable for watching videos and playing games. Powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor, the Galaxy Tab4 7.0, Galaxy Tab4 8.0 and Galaxy Tab4 10.1 pack 1.5GB RAM and core Samsung services such as Group Play, Samsung Link and WatchON.

All three tablets share a similar screen resolution of 1280 X 800 on a WXGA display. The camera is standard across all tablets, packed with 3-megapixel in the rear and 1.3-megapixel on the front. The Galaxy Tab4 8.0 and Tab4 10.1 come with 16GB internal storage, expandable up to 64GB via microSD card slot, and the Galaxy Tab4 7.0 packs 8GB and 16GB optional storage with option to expand up to 32GB on 3G/Wi-Fi model and 64GB on LTE variant. All tablets run Google's latest Android 4.4 KitKat and will be offered in either White or Black colors.

The bigger Tab4 10.1 packs a powerful 6,800 mAh battery and 4,450 mAh for the Tab4 8.0 model. Battery on the Tab4 7.0 is unavailable.

Samsung has kept the pricing details under wraps, but confirmed that the Galaxy Tab4 range will be available worldwide during the second quarter this year.
