Chicago opened their season with a 5-3 win on Monday against Minnesota, thanks in part to two homeruns from White Sox slugger Alejandro De Aza. Jose Abreu also accounted for two hits and one RBI in his debut for Chicago.

Abreu's nerves settled after he got his first hit.

"You wanted to get that first one out of the way," Abreu said through an interpreter, via ESPN. "Once you get it, it's a very happy moment. The first thing I thought of was my mother."

For Minnesota, catcher Kurt Suzuki had three RBIs. Despite the loss, the Twins are confident they can bounce back.

"I thought we played good, we battled all game," Twins pitcher Ricky Nolasco said. "Put up some runs, gave a good fight to Chris Sale and made it interesting late. Come back tomorrow or the next day and try and build off that."

Kevin Correia (9-13, 4.18 ERA) gets the start for Minnesota on Wednesday.

Chicago will send pitcher Felipe Paulino to the mound in his first start since June 6, 2012, according to ESPN.

"I feel blessed. Everybody knows my last year and a half was recovery," Paulino told the team website. "...I want to be the same pitcher (I was) before I got injured."
