Fans are still upset over the series finale of "How I Met Your Mother." After nine seasons, the CBS show said farewell by killing off the Mother which allowed for Ted to once again pursue a relationship with Robin.
One fan was so upset that he created his own alternate ending that allowed Ted and the Mother to live out their happily ever after. Ricardo J. Dylan posted the "How I Met Your Mother Alternate Ending " on YouTube.
"This is my personal cut of the ending of how I met your mother series finale," he wrote in the video's caption. "I believe that this is more like the ending that we deserve and that through all this years [sic] have been waiting for, in my mind this is how I will personally remember the end of my favorite show."
He added that he did like the episode up "until the final two minutes" when he felt like the show's writes destroyed "years of character development and history." (You can watch his video below).
Dylan is definitely not alone. Fans have been tweeting about the finale ever since it aired Monday night. One Twitter user posted a link to Dylan's video and said "This is how it ended I won't except the real one."
"How I settled for your mother so I could have the kids I wanted and then went back to the real love of my life once she died. #HIMYMFinale," one Twitter user posted.
"#HIMYMFinale was kinda disappointing. It's more like, how I met your stepmother. *eyes roll*," another viewer wrote.
Josh Radnor (who plays Ted Mosby) defended the show's finale in an interview with Vulture. Radnor told the magazine that the ending wasn't a shock for him because the producers had already approached him with the idea.
"They had mentioned to me the twist about the mother in the first season, and I kind of put it out of my head," he said. "I didn't know if they would actually want to come back to it and do that, especially after Cristin [Miloti], because she was so wonderful and the fans seemed to really take to her. So I asked them 'Are you guys still doing that?' And they said yeah."
He also said the show purposefully hinted that something bad was going to happen to the Mother and that Ted would end up with Robin.
"It's not that people cracked some code," Radnor continued. "They were laying that in, so that it would be discussed and slightly less jarring for people."
