Atlanta Braves Vs. Washington Nationals Live Radio Broadcast: Game 1, 2014 (LISTEN)

The Atlanta Braves visit the Washington Nationals on Friday in the first of their three-game series. The game begins at 1:05 p.m. ET. Listen to the live radio broadcast via the links provided below.

Washington opened the season with three straight wins. They hope their perfect start will carry over against the Braves, who won the season series in 2013, 13-6.

"Obviously, there's a history with us and the Braves with what happened last year, but it's a new year," Nationals reliever Tyler Clippard told the Associated Press. "Once the season starts, any time you play an inter-division team, you want to win those games. If you're playing well within your division, you're going to have a better opportunity to win your division. ...

"When Atlanta comes to town, we'll be looking forward to beating up on them a little bit."

Jordan Zimmermann, who was scratched on Thursday because of the flu, is slated to start on the mound for Washington -- if he's healthy enough.

"We don't want to send him out there with him being really sick," Nationals manager Matt Williams said, "so we'll see how that goes in the morning."

The right-hander is coming off an All-Star season where he posted a 19-9 record with a 3.25 ERA.

Braves pitcher David Hale is scheduled to make just his sixth professional start and will oppose Zimmermann.

Atlanta won two of their first three games and knows it's important to start strong against their division rivals.

"We got off to a good start against the Nationals last year, and we want to do it again," Braves slugger Jason Heyward said. "We know they're a good team and I think they feel the same about us. Nothing has really changed. We've had some great games and I'm sure we will again this year."
