Cleveland started the season winning two of their first three games, including Wednesday's 6-4 win against Oakland. Indians outfielder Michael Brantley played a big part in the win, accounting for three RBIs with his ninth-inning single.

"It's just a never-die attitude, never quit, always picking each other up and always fighting to the end," Brantley said, via ESPN. "What we did tonight was fun. It was special, and hopefully we'll use that momentum to keep going."

Friday is the Indians' home opener, something All-Star slugger Jason Kipnis is excited about.

"Having a sea of red come out, seeing nothing but Tribe colors," Kipnis told the Associated Press. "Having all the fans show up to the ballpark, the excitement, the balloons, the fireworks, the music going on. The things going on in the streets around the stadium -- there's just a buzz around the ballpark the whole day."

Danny Salazar is scheduled to start for Cleveland on Friday.

Minnesota, meanwhile, opened the season with two straight losses against the Chicago White Sox before winning on Thursday, 10-9.

"Obviously, every day we're just going out and trying to compete," Twins slugger Oswaldo Arcia said through a translator, via ESPN. "We competed the whole series and looking forward to carrying this one over."

Twins pitcher Mike Pelfey is slated to take the mound.
