New York City police officers and fire officials engaged in an all-out brawl on the ice during a charity hockey game in Long Island.
Halfway through the yearly match on Sunday, FDNY and NYPD officials participating in a hockey game at Nassau Coliseum started throwing punches and knocking one another to the ground.
Attendees in the stands captured most of the fight during the second period, as tensions on the ice ran high.
The score was tied 3-3 at the time the fight broke out, the New York Daily News reported. Players from the fire and police department ditched their gloves and started brawling with members of the opposite team while fans roared from the wings.
The crowd, riled up from the spectacle happening below, began chanting "PD Sucks."
According to Deadspin, the FDNY beat the PD for the past five games that have taken place since 2009.
Officials managed to break up the fight, and the game resumed. The NYPD eventually won the match, 8-5.
Authorities from both the NYPD and FDNY declined to give comment to Newsday on Monday.
Neither the NYPD nor the FDNY acknowledged the brawl on their respective social media accounts.
NYPD Hockey's Facebook page merely celebrated the victory.
Meanwhile, FDNY recalled its previous wins.
No injuries were reported after the fight, according to the Huffington Post.
